Another concert

Random picture of me
Prior to leaving on holiday we purchased tickets to two classical music events as part of the Helsinki festival. One was to a concert at a private residence in town, which was kept a secret. It turns out that is was hosted at the home of the Netherlands Ambassador to Findland, wonderful home that was completely refurbished. The Ambassador and his wife were delightful hosts, she asked if we had homes like this in Canada. I responded no...we live in igloos and teepees. What I wanted to say was, we do indeed, however, we keep livestock in them.....

It was a solo violinist performing pre-baroque string sonatas. Both Francois and I had a hard time keeping our eyes open, thankfully she was so horrible on the violin that the noise of it kept us awake. At one point I swear it sounded like two cats fighting under a blanket. We tried to slip out unnoticed at the break, however, the doors were locked and there was only 20 people in the room. The second half was much better (slightly) and we did meet some interesting folks. Aaaahhh Bach.

HOT PHOTO!
This post made me laugh so hard, I shed tears. Two cats fighting under a blanket? Perfect description. And your foiled attempts at escaping through the locked door was too much. Sounds like they lock the door from the outside to secure an audience for amateur violinists. Miss you guys. xo
